The St. Louis Cardinals are still in the midst of a 3-9 record in its last 12 games overall and really needs to snap out of it quickly if they are going to keep their NL wild card hopes alive.
The lowly Kansas City Royals are 2-7 in last nine road games in Minnesota while the Seattle Mariners have gone just 21-48 in its last 69 road games overall.

Espinosa, who drove in six runs to power the Nats to a convincing 13-3 win over the New York Mets on Monday night, has three homers, three doubles, and 10 RBIs so far.
The 23-year-old from Santa Ana, Calif. was called up from Triple-A last Wednesday and smacked a grand slam homer and a solo jack on Monday night to earn the first curtain call of his big league career.
Red-Hot Hurlers
If you’re looking for a streaking pitcher to back tonight MLB gamblers, you might want to start with Minnesota Twins’ veteran southpaw starter Francisco Liriano (12-7, 3.29 ERA).
Liriano has held the opposition to two earned runs or less in eight of his last 10 starts while posting a fantastic 2.15 ERA over his last eight starts heading into tonight’s home start against the lowly Royals.
Liriano has allowed just two earned runs over his last two starts combined and tossed seven shutout innings against the Tigers on Wednesday.
Minnesota has posted a blistering 8-1 record in Liriano’s last nine starts.
This may come as a shocker to most, but the Arizona Diamondbacks have one of baseball’s best pitchers taking the mound tonight in rookie right-hander Barry Enright (6-2, 2.45 ERA).
In a dozen starts this season, Barry Enright has not allowed more than three earned runs or pitched less than five innings in any outing while not allowing more than two earned runs in each of his last three starts and eight of his last nine outings overall. Arizona has gone 5-1 in the young right-hander’s last six starts while the Under is 7-3 in his last 10 outings.
