Good Night - Chicago White Sox

If you’re an MLB betting fan that has been cheering for the Chicago White Sox this year, put your energy somewhere else. They are finished. On Wednesday night, they lost to the Minnesota Twins for a second straight night and fell back to eight games in the American League Central with only 17 contests remaining.
The Baseball betting fans knew that the White Sox had a slim chance to close the gap with the Twins visiting for three games this week. A sweep would have closed the gap to two games and really put the heat on Minnesota but as it stands now, the Twins will be able to rest players and get their starting rotation in order for the American League Championship Series, when they do start in a few weeks.
The MLB betting handicappers still have plenty of interest in the White Sox, though. The regular season win total for Chicago was set at 82.5 and considering how badly the White Sox are struggling right now and given the fact that they have nothing to play for anymore, they might tank and blow the over. They have 11 more home games after tonight, so it’s unlikely, but you never know how a team will respond when their playoff hopes have been dashed.
It’s a disappointing end to a disappointing season for the White Sox. They started out poorly but then transformed into one of the hottest teams in baseball when the summer months hit. In the end, they couldn’t muster enough hitting and a fatigued bullpen just wore down. Losing Jake Peavy for the season also didn’t help.
If the Chicago White Sox hold on to Manny Ramirez, they could be dangerous in 2011 but only time will tell. There’s a long way to go before then.
